Mrs. Linda King, Principal

I am proud to serve the students, staff, and parents of Grover Elementary School this school year!   I am a classroom teacher at heart and committed to teaching and learning.  I desire to provide leadership to ensure student success, as well as, influence students to become life-long learners and productive citizens.  As partners in education, we can work together to ensure the success of every student.

I have worn many hats in education.  Before seeking certification in public education, I spent many years in a daycare program teaching pre-school children in Charlotte.  After moving to Shelby, I desired to obtain a North Carolina teaching license.  While attending school part-time, I also worked as a part-time Teacher Assistant in the Reading Lab at Jefferson Elementary School.  I also had opportunities to drive a bus route while at Jefferson.  I received an Associate in Arts in Pre-Education from Cleveland Community College and then a Bachelor of Science from Gardner Webb University.

After graduation, I served Crest Middle School as a Language Arts teacher for fifteen years.   While teaching, I obtained a Master of Arts in School Administration also from Gardner Webb University.
